Circle, District and Jubilee line :
POS Services was asked to carry out PTI (Platform Train Interface) works at Westminster Station.
The works were to reduce the gap between the train and platform. The works covered the whole platform and various moves of the nosing stones took place from 5mm to 30mm towards the rail.
All works took place during engineering hours over a period of 8 weeks which involved the team working to very tight shift times, in some cases less than 3.5 hours working time.
The safety critical aspect of the works was provided in-house by POS protection staff PWT-EH’s who worked closely with the works team to ensure safe access and protection arrangements were in place throughout the works.
PGI’s (Planned General Inspection’s) where carried out by a number of London Underground Health and Safety representatives and we were commended for our work site safety culture.
POS T002/3 Handback engineers signed off all works allowing the platform to be handed back on time at the end of each shift for commuters to travel each morning.
